On Point Wrestling, Williamstown NJ - On Point Wrestling presented their first annual Masters Of The Mat tournament that took place on October 24 at the OTW Arena. The one night, single elimination tournament was kicked off by the first round matchup Brute VanSlyke VS The Machine Sam Shields. Shields was used to having the size advantage in his matches but VanSlyke had the clear size advantage in this contest. Shields tried using his strength on Brute but was unable to knock him down. VanSlyke was able to gain control of the match up hitting The Machine with various suplexes and slams. But Sam Shields was able to turn momentum around after knocking Brute to the outside of the ring and connecting with multiple dives. VanSlyke soon after attempted to connect with the King Of Arms Lariat but Shields was able to avoid the move and was able to connect with a lariat off his own off the top rope on VanSlyke to pick up the win and advance to the semi finals.

BRUTE VAN SLYKE vs "The MACHINE" SAM SHIELDS Van Slyke has felt over looked, Shields refuses settle for anything other than being the top dog. Both men are power houses that can go in the ring, and both are more determined than ever. This is going to be like two bulls locking horns, but keep in mind, imagine if a bull could be graceful enough to enter a “Dancing with the Stars” competition, and you might get an idea of the kind of match you’ll see here. Two angry, big, strong, tough guys, looking to destroy the other, but also capable of putting on a wrestling clinic as well. I predict that the first one to calm down, relax, and plot a course of action through planned maneuvers will be the one to come out on top. VOW has announced that on November 14 in Connellsville, PA that Brute VanSlyke will be taking on Alexander James in the Iron Men tournament first round matchup.
From VOW's Official Facebook Page:
Brute VanSlyke has been added to the Iron Men Tournament Nov 14th to replace the injured Patrick Hayes. Brute VanSlyke has just returned from a successful tour of Wrestle-1 in Japan. New England Championship Wrestling, Hampstead NH - Brute VanSlyke made his NECW debut Saturday night October 10 at the company's Autumn Impact event. In the semi-main event of the evening VanSlyke teamed with Jack Maverick to take on Genesis and Alex North in a short but impactful tag team contest. VanSlyke and Maverick were able to out brawl and out strengthen the Canadian duo with VanSlyke hitting a variety of suplexes and gaining a few near falls, but Genesis and North were able to turn momentum around almost scoring a pinfall on Maverick. After Brute broke up a pin attempt all four men began brawling in and out of the ring until the referee decided to throw the match out making it a no contest. All four men brawled all the way back to the locker room. Credit Dave Rodrigues
